According to the BBC News, two men made off with a chunk off of Stonehenge in Wiltshire, England, last Thursday. Two security guards spotted the pair using a hammer and a screwdriver to take a piece from the 5,000- year-old site. The incident damaged a coin-sized area of the “Heel Stone.”

The vandals may have been following in their ancestors footsteps, because before 1900, souvenir hunting was a legitimate practice at the henge. At one time, chisels were even handed out to visitors.
