Cure for Acne - (?) or (!)

Apparently a pill (not to be confused with the 1960s-esque gem to the left) which is already on the market for another condition has been found to control acne. The pill reduces the flow of sebum, the skin oil believed to be a major cause of acne, by 90%.
Other acne “cures” have been found to have bad side-effects, including a tendency towards suicide, but this new drug “SMT D002″ does not appear (yet) to have any side-effects.
According to Telegraph.co.uk, the company, Summit Corporation, would not release the name of the drug as it already exists; Summit intends to make a cream out of it for acne use.
Any guesses? Think it’s OTC or prescription? Is sebum only a bad oil, or does it have hydrating properties that will be inhibited by this drug?
