Seven New Sins

photo credit: sam_keenMost of us are probably familiar (some of us too familiar) with the seven deadly sins: lust, gluttony, greed, sloth, wrath, envy, and pride. They don’t come from the Bible, but were instead handed down by Pope Gregory in the 6th century to help educate people about sin. The Vatican, just a few days ago, has released a new set of seven sins, this time with a more worldly focus. They are calling them the seven “social sins.”
The seven social sins are:
1. “Bioethical” violations such as birth control
2. “Morally dubious” experiments such as stem cell research
3. Drug abuse
4. Polluting the environment
5. Contributing to widening divide between rich and poor
6. Excessive wealth
7. Creating poverty
